Apple Cider Mini Donuts

It’s quite ridiculous how much I’ve been slacking on my blog. It’s time to change that and start posting consistently again. Now I won’t call it a New Year’s resolution to post more because let’s face it, it’s almost February. I have been cooking and baking over the past few months but I’ve either forgotten to take photos along the way or just decided not to blog about it. So, to kick off my blog (again), let’s start with a sweet I made multiple times over the holidays – Apple Cider Mini Donuts. I absolutely loved these from the first time I made them. The original recipe comes from Feastie, and I was very excited to see that the author mentions Butler’s Orchard and their apple cider donuts. Matt’s known the family since he was young and took me up there a few years ago. We get our pumpkins there for Halloween and my parents love their pies. You can also pick your own fruit. So a huge shout out to them! You guys rock. Continue reading

Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie Bars

Let me break it down for you – chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, AND Reese’s pieces. Chocolate and peanut butter are two of my favorite foods to mix together so I didn’t think twice about whether or not to go with this recipe. Continue reading

Funfetti Cookies

Last weekend Matt and I went to the Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox 20 concert. One of my friends from college and her boyfriend drove down to go to the concert with us. We tailgated before the concert started and had an awesome time. (If you haven’t played Cards Against Humanity you should. We couldn’t stop laughing while playing it.) As part of the tailgate spread I wanted to make something sweet to go along with the turkey burgers and crab dip I made. Continue reading

Cinnamon and Sugar

The other day I was craving something sweet. I have a big sweet tooth but I’ve cut down on how much of them I eat.  I decided to indulge though and bake a dessert. I chose snickerdoodle bars, as I hadn’t made them in quite a while. My cutting back on sweets has also meant Matt cutting back on sweets so he was quite thrilled when I mentioned what I would be baking. Continue reading
